Competitions

Archery is an individual but competitive sport. Southampton Archery Club holds a number of competitions throughout the year which you are welcome to attend whatever your skill level. As well as our advertised competitions we also hold a number of fun and friendly shoots with other local clubs.

Target Competitions - We hold a number of target competitions during the year, some of which are UK or World Record Status, offering a wide variety of metric and imperial rounds.

Clout Competitions - We hold three clout competitions in April, August & December - these are often UK Record Status.

Novice Competitions - We hold two novice target competitions in March & August designed for novice archers who have never attended a competition before. These are very popular with new archers from clubs all over the south, they give a gentle introduction to competition procedures and are ideal if you are nervous about entering a "real" competition.

Frostbite Competitions - We hold two Frostbite target competitions in February & November, these are shot in the dark under floodlights and offer a very unique experience to shoot the 30 metre Frostbite round.

Wand Competitions - We hold a wand competition each year as many archers enjoy this mediaeval type of shoot and not many clubs run competitive shoots for the wand.
